Video Of Totally Chill Marmot Enjoying A Bath Is A Viral Sensation
If you need something to brighten up your day, this video that @Marmot QH shared of his pet marmot getting a bath will do it! The video was shared in mid-November 2023, and it's the most satisfying thing you'll see today.
Although the video's only about a minute and a half long, it's a pure joy to watch. We see the marmot standing in the shower, patiently waiting for its bath. Dad starts the process, and the marmot (name unknown) enjoys every minute of it. Watch until the end because his reaction to getting rinsed off is the best part of the video!
His little hops are everything! I love how he turns towards the water, so it hits all sides of him. And let's not ignore that bombastic side eye going on! He's enjoying every second of the warm water, and he is all of us relaxing in the shower! I could watch this little guy all day!
@Marmot QH's video went super viral - it has more than 272 million views, over 18 million likes, and almost 220 thousand comments...I think this is the most viral video I've ever seen! I could watch him all day, as could many other people. @Lacie Marie had my favorite comment with, "So TikTok has shown me that I need a hedgehog, a cow, a chinchilla, and several other cute animals I can't think of at the moment... But now I need a marmot".

After watching this adorable video, I realized that I had no idea what a marmot is. It looks like a groundhog, but there are some notable differences between the two. According to rodentsfact.Com, the biggest difference is probably the sizes between the two. Marmots are the larger of the two and weigh twice as much. Groundhogs have shorter fur and tails than marmots, and their coloring is different as well.
Marmots are usually found in mountain and rocky areas, while groundhogs like urban areas, forests, and fields. Another interesting difference is that marmots are more social than groundhogs (they live in groups of up to 10) and live in groups of up to 20. They like hanging out!
Groundhogs are considered pests because they'll happily find and dig up gardens and crops to fill their bellies. Since marmots live in remote areas, they rarely do damage and aren't considered a nuisance like groundhogs are.
While they both belong to the same family (marmots and ground squirrels) they are not the same. Groundhogs are a type of marmot, but marmots are not a type of groundhog. Confusing, right?
And who knew that marmots are so cute? I'm following this account now and will be on the lookout for more cute marmot moments to share!

Gabrielle Union Uses Viral TikTok Trend To Share Harsh Realities Of Being A Black Actress In Hollywood
Gabrielle Union is using a popular social media trend to open up about the treatment of Black actresses in Hollywood.
Union took to her Instagram and created a video using the viral "We're" TikTok trend, where users introduce themselves and explain who they are by making satirical references to anything that may be stereotypical of their profession, race, age demographic, or other forms of identity.
Union begins her video walking across the lawn, referring to questionable cases of mistaken identity and invalidated box office wins.
"I'm a Black actress and producer in Hollywood. Of course, I've been mistaken for Garcelle Beauvais, Brandy, Ashanti, Sanaa [Lathan], Nia [Long], both Halles [Berry and Bailey] and both Reginas [King and Hall]," her clip begins. "I'm a Black actress and producer in Hollywood. Of course, our box office successes never matter."
The clip then cuts to the 51-year-old seated while prepping for hair and makeup.
"I'm a Black actress and producer in Hollywood. Of course, I'm going to have to work until it's… the end… because we can't retire. We don't make enough," she states, using a filter to age her and her voice.
The Perfect Find actress then appears on screen, referencing Black people's adaptation to non-verbal communication in mixed crowds.
"I'm a Black actress and producer in Hollywood, and, of course, I have mastered the art of communicating without communicating when we are around," she says in full glam.
Toward the end of the clip, Union provides a clear and direct message as she gets ready for bed: "I'm a Black actress and producer in Hollywood, and, of course, my favorite phrase is, 'Don't f**k with my money.'"
While the "We're" trend has been used to make light of generalizations about specific groups, the conversation about the mistreatment of Black creatives in Hollywood is real. Taraji P. Henson has been vocal about her plight to receive her worth as a leading lady. During a recent interview with Gayle King, The Color Purple star got emotional when expressing her frustrations and how she was "tired" of being underpaid as a Black woman navigating Hollywood.
"I'm just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, getting paid a fraction of the cost," Henson said tearfully to King. "I'm tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, 'You work a lot.' I have to; the math ain't mathin'."
Henson later addressed how the low wages have affected how she views her career and accomplishments.
"I'm only human. Every time I do something and break another glass ceiling, when it's time to re-negotiate, I'm at the bottom again like I never did what I just did, and I'm just tired," she said.
Henson's vulnerable moment was answered by immense support from fellow Black creatives, including Union herself, who at the time tweeted, "Not a damn lie told. Not. A. Damn. Lie. We go TO BAT for the next generation and hell even our own generation and above."
She added, "We don't hesitate to be the change that we all need to see AND it takes a toll on your mind, health, soul, and career if we're keeping it 100."
A Viral Theory Suggests Friends' Chandler And Monica Live In The McCallister's 'Home Alone' House
NBC; 20th Century FoxThe final season of Friends has a clever connection to the Home Alone film franchise.
"So, I just learned that Chandler and Monica from Friends moved into the McCallister family's house from Home Alone," Instagram user Scott Westwood stated in a recent video, suggesting that the characters portrayed by Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox, respectively, live in the same home featured in the Christmas movies.
Using a clip from season 10, episode 14, of Friends as evidence, Westwood points out that the view outside of Chandler and Monica's home matches up to the first Home Alone film. The house that can be seen out of their window appears to be the same one Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) rob before nearly hitting Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) with their van.
Adding to the theory, Westwood notes that another house seen outside Chandler and Monica's window is the one directly across from the McCallister's. The blue house, which has a Christmas wreath on the door, is prominently seen in the Home Alone scene where Kevin sleds down the stairs and into the front yard.
On September 22, 1994, TV audiences got six new pals with the cast of the hit NBC series Friends. Now, decades later, we've watched Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) take on numerous other roles through the years. The friend group went from aimless 20-somethings to grown-ups with […]
Westwood's evidence suggests that Chandler and Monica do, in fact, live in the McCallister's home. The timeline of Chandler and Monica's move could suggest the family eventually moved away, as Friends ended in 2004, 12 years after the release of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
"The Bings could've just adopted Kevin after he inevitably gets taken away by child services due to parental neglect," Westwood joked in the video's caption, poking fun at the Home Alone films' plots.
However, the TV show and the movie series take place in two different states. Chandler and Monica's house is located in upstate New York, while Home Alone is set in Chicago.
20th Century FoxFriends production designer Daren Janes confirmed the backdrop used on the set of Chandler and Monica's house was, in fact, the Home Alone neighborhood. (Janes worked on nearly every season of the hit sitcom, according to his IMDb page.)
"I was the Art Director on Friends & the house was a set. The actors walked in the front door, so we saw outside," Janes commented on Westwood's video. "We used the backing from a company called Pacific Studios, which was made for Home Alone because it looked the best through the door & windows. Great eye, my friend!!!!"
Stars of both Friends and Home Alone made headlines throughout 2023. Perry died at the age of 54 in October after being found unresponsive in his home hot tub. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office reported that the actor died of "the acute effects of ketamine," Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month.

Home Alone launched the career of Macaulay Culkin — and three decades later, fans are still quoting the iconic 1990s Christmas film. "Christmas is my time of year," Culkin exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2019. "I get recognized 10 times more between the months of November and January. I have no idea why." The […]
Cox, 59, honored her former TV husband with a sweet tribute. "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day," she captioned an Instagram clip on November 14, featuring a video of the live studio reaction to the first time Chandler and Monica slept together on season 4 of Friends. "When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. … He was funny and he was kind 🤍🕊️."
Meanwhile, Culkin, 43, earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December. He concluded his speech by quoting one of Kevin's most iconic Home Alone quotes, stating, "Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals."
